oh Baby!

I've decided to stop worrying about how often I post here.  This blog is one of the many tools I use in my recovery.  Not using my miter for 3 months wouldn't make it any less valuable to me; the same applies to this blog.

So what have I been up to?  Lots and lots of service work!  I have two sponsees, one of whom is very active right now; that keeps me fairly busy.  I'm very active in my local recovery fellowship's service structure, although my schedule has made attending meetings difficult lately.  I work in healthcare, and tis the busy season for those of us in healthcare!  Hooray for H1N1! (sarcasm)

And here's the big news: the wife and I are having a baby!  This will be our first, which is frightening and exciting in equal measure.  It's brought up a lot of interesting issues in my therapy sessions, that's for sure.  I've been putting off dealing with a lot of the anger I have towards my parents until now.  With a child of my own on the way, it's been very important for me to deal with some of those issues.

Step 9 work and possibly some family issues work to come... stay tuned...

Hey Ken,

Thank you for your courgeous honesty on your blog! I have found through my own recovery process that being seen and sharing my story of hope and recovery has been a vital step in the healing process. I used to be so afraid of what others would think of me if they really knew me, but now I finally realize that I am a good man! Even as a recovering sex and love addict. Thanks again for putting your story out into the world. I am sure that you are helping many people.

Yay! Our baby (in a way) was the catalyst for recovery. I think it's wonderful that your baby is being born into a strong recovery. That's an incredible head start! P.S. If you get in touch with my husband or me when (or shortly before) the little one arrives, I'd love to send you something for it. :)

Congratulations Ken! How wonderful that you and your wife are pregnant with your first. Children have a way of getting us outside of ourselves and forcing us to make mature decisions.

All my best to all three of you.

Congrats on the baby ! My son, who is now 2 1/2 yrs. old, has been instrumental in my recovery. He is the reason why I am here today.
